Travel Log: A Romantic Trip to Paris

Updated: Feb 23, 2023

When I think of romantic cities, Paris is always the first one that comes to mind. With its cobblestone streets and old-world charm, it's hard not to fall in love with this beautiful city. It's especially romantic during the springtime when you can take a walk along the Seine River or enjoy dinner in one of its many restaurants. If you're planning a trip there anytime soon (or even if you're just daydreaming about your next vacation), here is my list of must-dos and attractions that I enjoyed while enjoying some good French romance!

Have a museum date at the Louvre

The Louvre is one of the most famous museums in the world, and it's no wonder why. The building houses over 8,000 works of art from all around Europe and Asia. It's also a great place to take your significant other on a date! The Louvre 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day. It is closed on Tuesdays. On Wednesdays and Fridays, the museum is open till 9:45 PM, so you'll have plenty of time to explore everything there before heading out for dinner or drinks at one of Paris' many cafes.

Visit the Eiffel Tower

Close to the Louvre, you can easily find the Eiffel Tower. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Paris and it's located on the Champ de Mars, near the Seine River. One of the best ways to experience this tourist attraction is at night as you can see the Iron Lady's light show coloring the parisian sky.

There are also a few restaurant options at the Eiffel Tower that can be booked during your trip. One of them is the Madame Brasserie - a restaurant on the first floor of the tower. Their contemporary cuisine is made with local, seasonal products and showcased by Michelin-star chef Thierry Marx.

Enjoy a romantic walk along the Seine River

For centuries, poets, painters, philosophers, novelists and lovers have understood the beauty of the infamous Seine River, the most romantic river in Paris. Flows right through the heart of the French capital and bordering 10 of the 20 Arrondisements, it's where you'll find many couples enjoying a walk along its banks or picnicking on its shores. The Seine is also a great place to go if you're looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy nature, whether alone or with your significant other. If you want to enjoy a walk along the river, there are many places where you can do so. I highly recommend going to either Notre Dame or Pont Neuf for this activity.

Take in the view from Notre Dame Cathedral

The Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the most famous cathedrals in France and the most visited monument in Paris. It's also over 600 years old, which makes it feel like you're walking around inside a piece of history! The cathedral was built in Gothic style, so it has lots of pointed arches, flying buttresses (you can see these on the sides), stained glass windows and lots more interesting things to look at. At night when everything else is closed down for the day it's open until midnight--so if you want to get some amazing photos then this would be an ideal spot!

Shop for souvenirs at Champs-Elysees or Marais district.

You can shop for souvenirs at Champs Elysees or Marais district. The most famous shopping district in Paris is Champs Elysees, which has high-end brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dior. It's a great place to visit if you want to buy luxury souvenirs.

If you're looking for something less expensive but stylish and unique, try the trendy neighborhood called Marais district. The main shopping streets here are Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, Rue des Rosiers, and the Rue Vieille du Temple. You can find cafes, patisseries, bookshops, creative homeware and vintage shops there.

From museums to monuments, parks and gardens, Paris has something for everyone. It also has plenty of shopping opportunities if you're looking for something unique or just want some souvenirs from your trip! I hope that you enjoyed this short travel log of my romantic trip to Paris. I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite places and things to do there. If you ever get the chance to visit, I highly recommend it! And if you're looking for the perfect bags to wear during your trip, don't forget to check our shop page!
