Looking for something to do on Valentine's Day in New York City? You're in luck! The city offers a variety of events and activities to make the day special. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or want to see a show, NYC has something for everyone. Check out our guide below for all the information you need on what to do this Valentine's Day in New York City!

1. Do a day trip to Governors Island

When you think of New York, what comes to mind? Probably the iconic skyline with its renowned buildings and expansive parks. One spot not on everyone’s radar may be Governors Island- a 172 acre island that lies just 800 yards away from Lower Manhattan!

Governor's Island now has an ice skating rink and sledding hills. You can cycle across the island (or rent bikes from Bike & Roll), have a picnic near Lady Liberty herself--and who knows when next you'll see her looking so pristinely beautiful? The island hosts a program of events, such as art exhibitions (see website for schedule).

2. Skate at the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park guide

Bryant Park is the perfect destination for lovers this Valentine's Day. The park comes alive with it's ice skating rink, the Holiday Shops, and rink side eats and drinks to keep you busy all day long!

Reservations and skate rentals must be made in advance online (rental prices change depending the day and time). If you're looking for a special outing at Winter Village, you can also book your personal igloo or iceless curling lane with dome.

3. Have drinks in heated igloos at 230 Fifth rooftop

This winter getaway is the perfect place to spend your Valentine's Day. The igloos at 230 Fifth have been a big hit - they're heated, cozy and come complete with snuggies for use inside! The drinks' menu offers several types of hot ciders (vodka apple cider is one example) as well as coffees/teas and an entire section dedicated to hot chocolate—both the boozy and the virgin type.

4. Take the tram to Roosevelt Island

There are few things in life more breathtaking than a sunset over the city that never sleeps. When you're feeling adventurous, take a three-minute ride to Roosevelt Island (and across the East River) which has a 360 degree view of New York City~what is more romantic than that!

5. Visit The Cloisters

Valentine's Day can be a great time to take your significant other out for an afternoon of relaxation and romance. Why not visit The Cloisters, which houses the Met’s medieval art collections? This beautiful park has been set up so that you may enjoy its breathtaking views while walking along paths winding through peaceful grounds - all surrounded by stone architecture!

There are endless options to choose from when it comes to enjoying a night out in NYC. Whether you want to see a show, enjoy a delicious dinner or just explore all that the city has to offer, we know you won’t be disappointed.
